John Fedorka

John most enjoys matching the hatch and hunting large brown trout, but he’s also well versed in nymphing techniques and is a closet streamer addict. Like all our guides, John works hard to make your day on the river the best it can be.

A 3rd generation resident of the Delaware River Valley, John grew up on the river swimming and catching fish with family and friends.

His stepfather, Paul Brooks taught him to cast a fly rod when John was in his teen. He grew in the sport fly fishing the Upper Delaware River and other local trout streams. A quick run through Marywood University led to Utah and the Flaming Gorge Lodge’s fly shop on the Green River. That was a quick stint that led him to Montana State University and work at the Bozeman Angler where he taught fly casting, tied custom fly orders and guided and explored southwest Montana’s waters.

John is also a freelance outdoor writer and photographer. His work can be seen in Fly Fisherman Magazine, American Angler, Outdoor Life, Field and Stream, TROUT, Strung, Hatch and Outside Bozeman among other publications.
