Ryan Furtak

Ryanandbrown

Ryan’s passion for the outdoors began at an early age when he spent countless days floating the Delaware River with his father. In his early teens, he was introduced to fly fishing and acquired his skills fishing the many wild trout streams near his home.

While attending Penn State University, where he received a degree in civil engineering, his fly fishing education elevated to graduate school level fishing the famed Central Pennsylvania trout streams that surrounded his college home. Ryan’s technical education is evident in the analytical and well thought out approach he applies to all the fly fishing disciplines, whether he’s nymphing, dry fly fishing, swinging wet flies, or jamming trophy browns with his favorite streamers.

Ryan has appeared in Field & Stream magazine, American Angler magazine, and George Daniels’s Dynamic Nymphing book. An excellent teacher and guide, Ryan will step up your game whether you’re a beginner or a veteran angler.

Ryan’s fly fishing travels have taken him to Washington, Montana, Florida, Wyoming and Idaho. He is a member of Friends of the Upper Delaware, and Stanley Cooper Trout Unlimited Chapter. When Ryan isn't on the water you can find him tying flies and sharing fishing stories.
